SA’s legendary duo perform for Ballito

Ard Matthews and Arno Carstens drew the crowds to Sugar Rush last Sunday.

Two of South Africa’s iconic artists took to the stage for an unforgettable music ensemble that drew more than 1000 fans to Sugar Rush Park last Sunday afternoon.

With a combined musical expertise than spans 35 years Ard Matthews and Arno Carstens’ on-stage collaboration was a one-of-a-kind experience for Ballito.

Enjoying a picnic with family and friends is Lee Wesson, Rob Wakefield, Tommy Wakefield, Jenna van Zyl and Martin Van der Merwe.

The crowds enjoyed two lengthy solo sets by each artist, followed by an entertaining collaboration with the two rock legends on stage together.

Durban singer Miles Jacoby opened the show with a selection of covers and pop/rock originals that impressed the fans. Jacoby has been playing music from the age of six and his love for his craft has taken him across the globe where he has learned and played extensively.

The best family entertainment enjoyed right on Ballito’s own backyard.

Arno’s live performance set included hits from his career as front man of The Springbok Nude Girls, many of the beloved and most celebrated songs from his career as a platinum selling, award winning English solo artist and some popular cover tracks, both in English and Afrikaans.

The duo also paid a touching tribute to music legend Johnny Clegg.

The Dolphin Coast community can expect one more show for 2019 at the Marriott Ballito Beats concert featuring The Parlotones on October, 6.

The concert spanned the generation gap as young fans sang and danced along to some of the greatest musical talent South Africa has to offer.
