WATCH: Ballito Lifestyle Centre reveals good things to come
Apart from a number of new and exciting retail shops and restaurants, the biggest attraction is the new permanent artisanal food market
You can never have too much of a good thing. And at Ballito Lifestyle Centre, the good things just keep on coming.
Providing a convenient shopping oasis for residents and holidaymakers alike for over a decade, Ballito Lifestyle centre has been the go-to place for good food and a great shopping experience.
Now with construction on the go, the popular centre is preparing to take things to whole new level.
With big brands such as Dischem, Baby City, Sportsmans Warehouse and Toy Zone opening their doors in the coming months, and the completion of the restaurant node and artisan food market at the end of the year, the centre is hard at work.
“These four big brands are closely aligned to our vision of providing everyday convenience and simplicity of shopping, while celebrating family and life,” said Co-Owner Bruce Rencken.
While more than 70% of the tenant base remained, deals have been concluded with Chateau Gateaux, Cook-In, Melissas The Food Shop, Harbour Bay, White Summer, as well as Greek, Mexican and Italian restaurants Mythos, Salsa and Lupa respectively.

Rencken said they had been working hard over the past 18 months to reposition the centre and most of their ideas and designs are now coming to life.
“We have taken a different strategy and are focusing more on certain aspects that are convenient to our shoppers.
“We will now differentiate ourselves. We will not become a Value Centre, instead we will provide the discerning Ballito shopper with an up-market, unique and experiential offering.
“Our focus will be on food, family fine-dining, an artisanal food market, boutique fashion and style, connecting friends and family, and everyday convenience.”

Apart from a number of new and exciting retail shops and restaurants, the biggest attraction is the new permanent artisanal food market.
This will be taking shape in the area opposite Mica, running all the way down to Zaras, that was previously occupied by Mr Price clothing, Totalsports and Identity.

“We will be creating a street scene setting with stunning architecture, attractive landscaping and hardscaping, outdoor seating and beautiful lighting, all topped with great food and superb service. It will be a celebration of life the Ballito way – the place where people meet, the place where families connect.”
Renovations are now on track and the new tenants are expected to be open for business from September.
Final touches should be completed by November.
