Clifton School’s band of brothers
The Clifton Class of 2021 coped exceptionally well and did themselves proud, with every one of them earning a Bachelor’s degree pass and 83% of them earning distinctions.

This strong and committed connection between teachers and the boys is something the school holds very dear.
It goes without saying that the past 2 years have presented many challenges and disruptions for everyone.
The Clifton Class of 2021 coped exceptionally well and did themselves proud, with every one of them earning a Bachelor’s degree pass and 83% of them earning distinctions.
The collective effort and investment of the school’s management, staff and the boys ensured a smooth transition between in-person and online teaching.
The school’s innovative online teaching method meant every boy was able to not only keep up with, but be guided through the curriculum at a personal level.
This strong and committed connection between teachers and the boys is something the school holds very dear.
As is the case each year, the newest Clifton old boys will be spreading their wings far and wide, pursuing tertiary studies in a wide variety of professional fields.

Eighteen Clifton graduates will study abroad – in Tokyo, Munich, Paris, Australia, USA, India, Lisbon and Norway.
Nineteen graduates are members of the Clifton XIII Club.
These gents joined the school in Grade R in 2009 as fresh-faced little ‘Red Ants’, and have formed a tight-knit group of Clifton men over the years they have spent together.
Four young men achieved ‘Clifton Pensioner’ status, having been at the school from Grade 1 to Grade 12.
No matter where they came from or where they may be moving to, this group – like every year’s group – have formed a bond of brotherhood that will remain with them throughout their lives.
Clifton’s school of music trio

Restructured in 2020, the Clifton School of Music gave focus to the two main areas: instrumental music and choral music.
To this end, Jane Magner was appointed the Head of Instrumental Music. Jane is a talented musician (as one part of the local ‘Veranda Panda’ duo) who brings this experience from the music industry to her teaching.
She is mentoring a number of ensembles from the school orchestras to a Drumline to the Marimba Groups and a recently initiated Wind and Brass Band.
Heading up Choral Music is Nina-Marie Watson an experienced music teacher and professional cellist who has performed for the KZN Philharmonic for a number of years.

Nina-Marie has the challenge of revitalizing the schools four choirs after almost 20 months of regulations preventing singing.
Nina is also the subject Head of Music and is developing music as a subject across all grades of the College.
The Foundation Phase music and choir lay in the able hands of Nina Alborough, herself an accomplished international oboist.
