Enhancing Ballito’s public spaces one project at a time

One such recent project was digging up the paving in front of the BP service station on the corner of Ballito and Simbithi drives to plant a beautiful indigenous garden.

The Ballito Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) has successfully completed 101 projects to the value of R4,8-million since 2016.

Established and funded by local commercial property owners in 2014, the UIP has an impressive track record combatting urban decay and enhancing the precinct’s public spaces one special project at a time.

Every project has made a significant difference to the area.

Cement ‘desert islands’ on the corner of Ballito Drive – this is what scenery motorists had to deal with before the UIP spruced things up.

From cleaning graffiti and planting gardens to maintaining the town’s iconic boardwalk, the UIP is dedicated to creating a safe, cared for environment that enhances property values and creates enjoyable spaces for everyone.

This creates a pleasing green focal point.
