Child stabbed to death

The five-year-old boy was stabbed seven times.

The mutilated body of a five-year-old boy was discovered in his alleged murderer’s backyard in Shayamoya last Wednesday.

The child had been stabbed seven times, and the cops have arrested his mother’s ex-boyfriend for the crime.

Umhlali SAPS spokesperson warrant officer Vinny Pillay said that the mother of the child came to the station to report her child missing. When the police discovered that the child was last seen with her ex-boyfriend they headed to his home.

“When police arrived at the suspect’s house in Shayamoya, there was blood in the yard and the body was found covered with leaves. We suspect that he was going to bury the body the next day. He was very drunk by the time police came to his house,” said Pillay.

The man appeared at Umhlali Magistrate’s Court last Thursday and he was denied a bail.
