Tongaat family held at gunpoint

"They were told to lie face down and were covered with a duvet."

A Tongaat family suffered a terrifying ordeal when a man, his wife and two daughters were robbed by three men with firearms on April 30.

Warrant officer Manisha Marsaid the father was at home when he responded to his wife calling him to their bedroom.

“When he got there he saw that a man was holding her at gunpoint.

“Two more men came into the bedroom with his daughters.

“They were told to lie face down and were covered with a duvet.”

Mari said that one of the robbers forced the husband and father to show him the safe and open it.

Then he assaulted him.

“He was returned to the bedroom where the family remained until the the burglars had left.”

Three flat screen TVs and jewelry were taken.
