Armed intruders attack Zimbali resident

Police are investigating how the intruders managed to get into the estate and the house.

Two armed men infiltrated the secure, upmarket Zimbali Estate  on Wednesday June 1.

A resident and his wife were aproached by two men in their home at KwaZulu Villas. One wielded a knife and the other a gun.

“One intruder held a knife against the wife’s throat while the other threatened to shoot the husband,” Umhlali SAPS spokesman Vinny Pillay said.

“The husband fought the man with the gun who hit the husband severely on the head. The men fled and the husband was treated at Alberlito Hospital.”

“A case of “house break-in with intent to commit offence unknown to the public prosecutor” has been opened at Umhlali police, because nothing was stolen and the intent of the break-in is not yet known.”

Pillay said the police are investigating how the intruders managed to get into the estate and the house.
