Weekend crime report

Umhlali SAPS urge residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach.

Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes this weekend:

· A man was stabbed at Thafeni, Sheffield Drive in KwaMkhize area on Friday.

· A car was broken into at Thompson Bay parking, Ballito on Saturday. A laptop was stolen.

· A house was broken into at Hugh Dent, Salt Rock on Saturday. A laptop, iPad, camera and jewellery were stolen.

· A woman was held up at gunpoint in her tuck shop in Shayamoya on Sunday. Money, cell phones, bank and grant cards were taken.

· A man was attacked at his house on Misty Ridge Farm, Upper Tongaat on Sunday. Money and a 9mm pistol was taken.

Umhlali SAPS urge residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach.

They also urge residents to report crimes against women and children and human trafficking. Police urge residents who applied for competency certificates and firearm licence to please go to the firearm office at the station for collection from Monday to Wednesday before 10am.
