A lift from Ballito to Ntshawini turned into a nightmare drive from hell last Thursday night for a woman who was gang raped.
The 26-year-old jumped off a train at the Compensation train station planning to take a taxi at the Ballito taxi rank at about 7pm.
There were no taxis running though so she was forced to hitch-hike.
Standing at the Ballito traffic lights next to the rank the young woman was offered a lift from two men in a black golf.
KZN police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said they blindfolded her and drove off, taking her to an unknown house where they took turns raping her.
“A case of rape was opened at Umhlali police station for investigation and no arrests have been made,” said Zwane.
