The victim was held at gunpoint at High Rocks

A fishing trip turned sour when a man was hijacked in a parking area at High Rocks in Sheffield.

Umhlali SAPS warrant officer Shaleen Ramlakan said the incident took place at around 9pm last night.

“The victim drove into the parking area at High Rocks. He reported that he planned to go fishing.

“As he parked his car, three men got out of a white Polo.

“Two of the men had fire arms. One man pointed a gun at the victim and told him in zulu to get out of his car, lie on the ground and not look up at them.”

According to Ramlakan, the men took the victim’s wallet out of his pocket while he was lying on the ground.

“They stole R270 in cash and threw the wallet on the ground.

“The victim’s car keys was still in the ignition.

“The three men got into the victim’s car, which was a silver Renault with an ND 192766 registration and drove off in an unknown direction,” she said.
