Drugs, cash recovered during SAPS operations 

A number of those arrested have already appeared in various courts in the South Coast and KwaDukuza areas

A total of 20 people were arrested for possession of drugs last week after KZN SAPS conducted various operations throughout the province.

A number of those arrested have already appeared in various courts in the South Coast and KwaDukuza areas.

During the operations, heroin, rock cocaine, cocaine powder, dagga, mushrooms and cash were seized.

In one incident on Sunday evening, members from SAPS Port Shepstone were performing crime combatting duties when they responded to a robbery in progress at Port Shepstone Taxi rank.

As they entered the rank , the police saw a group of suspicious people who started to run away after being approached by the police.

Police gave chase and managed to arrest one of them who was found in possession of 313 straws of whoonga, heroine capsules, 20 mandrax tablets and R4 233-90 cash.

The estimated street value of the drugs found in his possession is R14 058.

The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs.

In Wentworth, a 17-year-old man was arrested last week for possession of 98 capsules of heroine. He also had cash in his possession.
