After a long wait in the cold early hours of Tuesday morning, patience and dedication paid off when two men involved in a housebreaking were apprehended by members of the Umhlali SAPS task team.
The two men reportedly broke into flats bordering Ballito and Chakas Rock, taking TV’s, cellphones and laptops.
Due to a rise in housebreaking incidents in the area, Umhlali SAPS teamed up with local security companies to patrol and monitor suspicious activity.
Unfortunately for the two thieves, Umhlali SAPS along with members of Z2 Security, Marshall Security and Megaforce Security were patrolling at the time and were ready to take action.
While making their escape, the men were arrested and the stolen goods recovered.
Both men are allegedly out on parole for similar offenses and are not part of the gang arrested last week.
“This is outstanding work from these local security companies and SAPS Task team,” said Umhlali SAPS spokesperson Vinny Pillay.
