Four people were murdered this weekend in the KwaDukuza municipality

A security officer at the KwaDukuza taxi rank was shot and killed at the market plaza on Saturday.

KwaDukuza SAPS spokesperson warrant officer Johannes Khoza said it was alleged that Ayanda Myeza was shot by his colleague at Aros Security Company.

“Apparently they had an argument that resulted in the shooting.

“Myeza sustained three gunshot wounds to his body.

“Two firearms were found next to his body,” said Khoza.

His colleague was arrested on Sunday and he is due to appear in court today.

Also this weekend a woman was strangled and killed, reportedly by her boyfriend, in Etete on Saturday night.

Apparently, Mantombi Makhathini (22) had a protection order against her boyfriend.

Khoza said the man had been arrested and appeared at the KwaDukuza Magistrate Court on Monday.

KwaDukuza police are also investigating a murder case after a Mozambican man was killed at near Senzo’s Tavern in Groutville on Sunday.

Chovier Muchanga was found lying in a pool of blood but there were no visible injuries.

“We also attended a murder case at Stanger Hospital.

“A 34-year-old man was brought in at 3.30pm on Sunday after being severely assaulted and suffering from internal bleeding and head injuries.

“He died in hospital,” said Khoza.
