UPDATE: Umdloti woman’s mystery death under investigation

Investigations are underway to reveal the cause of the tragic death of the well-loved Umdloti woman

Police are investigating the death of the Umdloti resident whose body was found on a driveway in Margaret Bacon Avenue, Umdloti in a pool of blood on Saturday morning.

SAPS spokesperson Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed that the woman was 35-year-old Monique Oberholzer (fondly known as ‘Moon’) and that she had been to a party the night before next door to the property where her body was found.

“We are currently waiting for the results of the autopsy report and cannot say anything further about the investigation,” said Colonel Zwane.

The result of the report will determine whether her death was indeed a tragic accident, as many community members believe, or whether foul play needs to be investigated.
