Weekend crime report for Umhlali

Eight cases of possession of dagga were filed over the weekend.

The following crimes were reported at Umhlali SAPS last weekend:

• Eight cases of possession of dagga were filed over the weekend.

• A man faces charges of shoplifting after allegedly stealing chicken strips from a store in Ballito last Friday.

• Aluminium windows and copper wire to the value of R8800 were stolen from Ballito last Friday.

• A car was stolen outside a Ballito residents house last Friday. Police are warning people to not park their cars in their driveway overnight.

• A case of fraud was opened last Saturday when fraudulent documents were produced at a car dealership in Ballito to apply for vehicle finance.

• A three-year-old girl from Shakaskraal was allegedly raped while she was visiting her neighbour on Saturday. The child cannot communicate who the rapist was.

• A Shakaskraal woman was assaulted last Sunday for apparently no reason. A man had verbally abused the woman and her cousin and it was reported that he later returned to the woman’s cousin’s house and hit her with a bush knife. She sustained an open wound to the forehead.
