Shootout at Renckens Centre – Mandeni

An unknown amount of cash was taken.

It was a rough start to Wednesday morning when an ATM robbery in Sundumbili, Mandeni led to a crossfire between five criminals and 20 guards.

According to Steve Fox from Mandeni Business Against Crime, five armed men robbed a woman using an ATM at the Renckens Centre in Sudumbili at around 6 am this morning.

An unknown amount of cash was taken.

“They chose the wrong time because the guards were in the process of changing shifts, so there were 20 guards instead of the usual 10.”

Fox said a shootout took place resulting in the criminals fleeing the scene.
