A 44-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of four illegal guns on Monday.

The man had two homemade shotguns, one 303 rifle and a 9mm pistol.

“He was charged for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. He will appear at the Maphumulo Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday),” said KZN police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele.

The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistics tests to establish if they were used in any other crimes in the province.
