The three thieves took the R2000 she had for school fees.

A 40-year-old Doringkop woman was held at gunpoint at ML Sultan Secondary School on Monday.

The woman was in a queue to pay school fees for her child when another woman pointed a gun and instructed her to go outside with her.

“The car had two men and she was taken to a sugarcane field next to Tshawini Township, just outside KwaDukuza,” said Ilembe cluster police spokesperson, constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo.

The three thieves took the R2000 she had for school fees.

A 48-year-old man from Maqumbi area in Maphumulo was scammed by a woman who pretended to be working at a bank on Monday.

The woman who allegedly introduced her self as Jessica Mtolo said she was from ABSA bank and she suspected that there were suspicious debit orders from the man’s bank account.

“He believed her because there were debit orders that he did not know about. So the woman said for safety reasons, he must give her his card and pin number. After he gave it to her, he got a notification of R4000 withdrawn from his bank account,” said Khuzwayo.
