UPDATE: Isithebe shallow grave “killer” arrested

Buthelezi's body was chopped into pieces and wrapped in plastic.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in Eshowe for  allegedly killing his sister and his nephew in Esidakeni, north of Isithebe, in January.

Zoe Buthelezi (49) and her son, Mthunzi Zulu (19) were killed and buried in a shallow grave after Buthelezi and her brother allegedly had an argument.

Residents and police found the shallow grave at the brother’s house.

In it they found two bodies with Buthelezi’s body chopped into pieces and wrapped in plastic.

KZN police spokesperson lieutenant colonel Thulani Zwane said they traced the suspect to Gebhasi farm, Eshowe where he was hiding.

“The arrested man will appear at Nyoni Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, March 9,” said Zwane.
