UPDATE: Double life imprisonment for Mandeni shallow grave killer

Buthelezi was arrested in Gebhasi farm in Eshowe where he had been hiding.

The man who brutally killed his sister and nephew and buried them in a shallow grave in KwaSithebe, Mandeni earlier this year has been sentenced to double life imprisonment.

Myboy Moses Buthelezi (45) was sentenced by the Mtunzini High Court after he pleaded guilty to both crimes.

Buthelezi killed his sister, Zoe Buthelezi (49) and her son, Mthunzi Zulu (19) after he had an argument with Zoe.

Acting provincial commissioner, major general Bheki Langa welcomed the sentence.

“He received a befitting sentence that will teach and give a strong warning to other criminals who want to commit such barbaric crimes.

“I further commend a team of detectives who work around the clock investigating and tracing the accused after he fled the area for hiding,” said Langa.
