Notorious criminals nabbed at Newark

The men have been linked to serious and violent crimes across KZN.

Police in Newark arrested two men for possession of housebreaking and car breaking implements last week.

Sibekezelo Goodwill Nkwanyana (37) and Thabiso Sizwe Majola(27) were charged and appeared in the KwaDukuza Magistrates Court on 24 May, where they were remanded in custody for further investigation.

The men have been linked to a number of serious crimes.

They were transferred to Verulam, as there was a warrant for Majola’s arrest after he failed to appear in court for another case of possession of car breaking tools.

Majola has been linked to several other car theft cases in Ilembe.

Nkwanyana is facing a case of car theft in Verulam.

He has been linked to a number of serious and violent crimes which include several carjackings in Hillcrest, KwaDukuza and Esikhaleni, armed robbery cases in Madadeni and Newcastle, car theft in Richards Bay and Esikhaleni and other possession of unlicensed firearm cases.

The accused are from Esikhaleni and police investigation is continuing to determine whether they are affiliated with hijackings in Umkhanyakude and Ilembe.

Nkwanyana is also suspected to be a hit man and police are still putting the pieces together to determine those allegations.
