Nsuze prime suspects appear in court for murder and robbery

One of the men is suspected to have been involved in a carjacking in the Umhlali area.

A group of armed men raided a business premises in Bhamshela earlier this year, firing shots at the employees, leaving two men dead and one injured.

They made off with cash and other items, using one of the employee’s cars as a getaway vehicle.

A case was opened at Nsuze police station for investigation and three men were arrested three months later.

On Wednesday, Siyethemba Mvuzo Gumede (20), Nhlanhla Lihle Mthiyane (26) and Ntuthuko Thunzi (26) appeared in the Nsuze Magistrates’ Court on two counts of murder, attempted murder and business robbery.

Ntuthuko Thunzi is also being held for carjacking, which he allegedly committed within the Umhlali policing area.

He previously failed to return to KwaDukuza Court and a warrant was put out for his arrest.

All the accused will be profiled to determine if they are linked to other serious and violent crimes.

Police investigation has revealed that at least five suspects remain at large.
