Men in possession of illegal firearms arrested in Tshawini

On the same night, a 23 year old man was shot 12 times at the Congo section of the township.

Four men were arrested after they were found with four illegal firearms in Tshawini township last Thursday night.

The men are believed to have been behind the business robbery in Sofaya section in Tshawini where an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

“Police found the men between the age of 22 and 27 years old in a cottage and they recently appeared at KwaDukuza Magistrate Court. The case was remanded until August 2,” said KwaDukuza SAPS spokesperson Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo.

On the same night, a 23 year old man was shot 12 times at the Congo section of the township and the motive of the shooting is unclear.

However, according to an informed source, it is suspected that the man who was murdered was selling drugs in the township and was killed due to a dispute over drugs.
