A man believed to be a Mandeni taxi boss is fighting for his life after being shot four times this afternoon.
Mandeni Business Against Crime manager Steve Fox said it was believed the attack, near the Spar store in Mandeni, was taxi-related.
The scene was still active at the time of his comment.
“We know that the man was a senior member of the association and he was on foot when he was fired at.
“He then ran into the Spar to seek refuge. There is no information on the gunman thus far.”
IPSS medical rescue’s Paul Herbst said it is suspected that the attack were from members of another taxi association.
“He was shot in his legs, arms and other parts of his body. He has been transported to hospital.”
