One man was shot and killed after a shootout with police in Maphumulo in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The three men allegedly robbed a security company in Stanger, fleeing with eight guns and supervisor’s car.

The men held two security officers hostage and demanded keys to the safe, but the guards told them that the keys were with the supervisor.
“They instructed one guard to call the supervisor and when he arrived, he was forced to open the safe.
“The thieves took the guns and used the supervisor’s car as a gateway vehicle,” said KwaDukuza SAPS spokesperson Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo.
Unfortunately for them, they drove straight into a police operation that was being conducted in Maqumbi, Maphumulo.
A shootout took place and one of the robbers was killed while the other two were arrested.
