A police officer from the Mandeni Police Station was shot and killed last night.
Sergeant Mazibuko was allegedly killed by her boyfriend who is a taxi owner in Mandeni.
It is currently unclear as to which taxi association he belongs to.
“It was her birthday and the boyfriend allegedly called her to his house at Bhidla near Mandeni,” said Ilembe Cluster police spokesperson constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo.
“The man then sent Mazibuko’s sons out to buy meat.

“When they returned they found that their mother had been shot and killed.”
The man later handed himself over at Sundumbili police station.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
