Two men were arrested in Masomonco, Isithebe near Mandeni for being in possession of illegal firearms and live rounds of ammunition on Sunday.
According to Ilembe police cluster spokesperson, Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo, it is believed that the men were on their way to commit a robbery.
“The 21 and 42-year-old men appeared at the Nyoni Magistrates’ Court for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
“They will remain in custody until next week Monday for a formal bail application,” said Khuzwayo.
