Update: Three arrested for N2 double homicide

The dead men may be linked to the murder of a man in Verulam on Monday night.

Three men were arrested yesterday in connection with the shooting and deaths of two men on the N2 near Prince’s Grant early yesterday morning.

On Tuesday the bodies of two men were found in their vehicle on the side of the N2 and a third victim who had been shot in the leg was discovered in the sugarcane.

According to KwaDukuza police spokesperson constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo the car was riddled with bullets.

“We found a car that looked like it had rolled over multiple times and there were bullet holes in it. A gun was found on the scene,” said Khuzwayo.

He said the vehicle was seen driving away from a murder scene in Verulam on Monday night.

The brother of the man killed in Verulam was one of those arrested for the double homicide.

“They will be appearing at KwaDukuza Magistrate Court today,” said Khuzwayo.
