Heroin bust in Shakaville, Etete

Courts are not taking drug busts lightly.

Police recovered heroin worth more than R32 000 and arrested two alleged drug dealers last Friday.

The Provincial Drug Unit, K9 Unit and the KwaDukuza Task Team arrested a 30-year-old man with 810 capsules of heroin and R3000 in cash in Shakaville.

They also arrested a 26-year-old man found with 270 capsules of heroin in Etete.

Both men were charged with dealing in drugs and possession of drugs.

Umhlali SAPS spokesperson Captain Vinny Pillay said this was just the tip of the iceberg.

“Drugs are on the increase in our area and courts are not taking this issue lightly,” said Pillay.
