Sundumbili police clerk’s mysterious death

That same day a security officer was shot in Dawnside.

Police are investigating a mysterious murder of a Sundumbili police station clerk who was killed last week.

Gareth Toohey’s body was found tied with ropes a few metres from his car in a sugar cane farm in the Nyoni area on Wednesday.

The motive behind the killing is still not known.

Later that day, a security guard was shot by a group of men while he was walking towards Dawnside in KwaDukuza.

They took his gun and drove off in a Toyota Hilux.

The man was rushed to Stanger hospital and police are investigating an attempted murder case.
