Female jogger attacked in Chaka’s Rock
In a separate incident this week a domestic worker was held-up while walking along Ocean Drive in Salt Rock.
A female jogger was assaulted by two men while out running on Chaka’s Rock road this morning.
IPPS Security operations director, Brendon Knott said the women, who lives in a nearby complex, was running up towards Simbith Estate when she was allegedly attacked by two men and dragged into nearby bushes.
“Her clothing was ripped but fortunately she managed to escape,” said Knott.
Knott said the women had been taken to Umhlali Saps where a case of attempted assault had been opened.
The two attackers are still at large.
In a separate incident this week a domestic worker was held-up by three men on Tuesday while walking along Ocean Drive in Salt Rock at around 4pm.
The woman managed to flag down an IPSS security patrol team and the security company apprehend two of the three men fleeing on foot towards Mount Richmore.
Of her stolen belongings, the woman’s handbag was recovered.
The men were handed over to Saps.
Since the start of lockdown level 4 running in groups has been restricted as part of governments risk-based approach to dealing with the coronavirus.
As of Monday group activities will still not be allowed.
