UPDATE, 3pm:
KwaDukuza Saps has confirmed that one person was shot and killed around midday, with two wounded were rushed to hospital for urgent medical care.
KwaDukuza Saps spokesperson Priya Nunkumar said: “It is alleged the suspect’s vehicle drove by the victim’s vehicle, opening fire.”
Two passengers were hit during the shooting.
Police are still at the scene.
The matter will be investigated by detectives of the KwaDukuza Saps Serious and Violent Crimes Unit.
ORIGINAL STORY
Shots were fired along Chief Albert Luthuli Street in KwaDukuza (Stanger) around midday today, where one person was shot.
It is unclear whether the victim was killed.
The incident has been described as a drive-by shooting, with a black BMW X5 reportedly making a high-speed getaway.
Police and security are on the look-out for the vehicle.
