The following crimes were attended to by Umhlali SAPS over the weekend:

A car and R5000 were stolen from the Shell garage late on Sunday evening. Two armed men held the cashier at gun point and stole the money from the till. Proceeding outside they stole a car which was later recovered.
Emergency services found a woman dead inside a burned down shack in Shayamoya on Sunday evening. It is believed the woman fell asleep with a paraffin stove on.
A man was murdered in Shayamoya on Saturday evening. The landlord reported that the man was inside his home with friends when the murderer entered the house asking for his cellphone. He then left and returned with a knife and stabbed the man.
The housing projects office in Shakashead was burgled early on Saturday morning. A man was asleep in his quarters and was held up at knife point by a lone burglar. He made off with a Samsung cellphone and R3300.
A visitor at a Sheffield resort had his bag, clothing and silver chain stolen from his room. He had locked his door, but was informed by security that the door had been found open.
A man was found with stab wound on his head in Shakashead on Saturday. He was taken to Stanger hospital for treatment.
An elderly man was assaulted by two men with knobkieries near the Salt Rock N2 offramp on Friday afternoon. He passed the two men on the road while they were fighting two other men. He was then attacked from behind.
R16 500 worth of personal items were stolen from a man’s car at the Lifestyle centre on Friday.
A Lifestyle centre Woolworths employee allegedly stole clothing from the store on Friday.
While riding his bike through sugar cane between the N2 and R102, a man was robbed by two armed men. They stole his bike and his cellphone.
Umhlali SAPS arrested three people for drinking in public, one for selling liquor without a license, two for possession of marijuana, six for illegally crossing a railway track and three people for road traffic violations.
