New CPF for KwaDukuza

Taking crime prevention to the community.

The newly elected KwaDukuza (Stanger) community policing forum (CPF) plans to improve the relationship between the police and community.

Addressing media, chairperson Sipho Hlatshwayo said they have put several programmes and strategies in place to kick-start good public relations.
“We have set ourselves certain priorities and aims, including strengthening relations with stakeholders such as private security companies, businesses, government departments, schools and NGOs.”
When asked how he planned to improve CPF visibility Hlatshwayo said they would conduct ward visits.
“There we will educate residents about the role of the CPF, the process of the justice system and human rights. We also intend to host regular awareness campaigns on drug, alcohol abuse and crimes against women and children.”
KwaDukuza station commander brigadier Bongiwe Sithole said she is looking forward to working with the new CPF and wished them well.
