Wheeling support for Nick Rey

Do not miss an evening to hear Patricia Glyn on her expedition with Dawid Kruiper through the Kalahari Desert.

An exciting talk by author and eco-adventure Patricia Glyn will be held this Thursday in an effort to raise funds for a wheelchair for former polo player Nick Rey.

Son of former Miss World Penny Coelen Rey, Nick (49) suffered a tragic accident when his horse fell on him during a polo tournament in 2004. The accident left him severely brain damaged and completely dependent.

Part of the proceeds from Thursday’s event will go into buying Nick a wheelchair to enable him to go to the beach and swim with his family.

Glyn will be speaking about her expedition with Dawid Kruiper and his family through the Kalahari Desert. Kruiper was a traditional healer and leader of the Khomani Bushmen in the Kalahari who passed away last year.  Glyn is famous for her walk from Durban to Victoria Falls in 2005.

Pumpy Lambert will also be running a fun auction of fabulous travel holidays and more.

The event will be hosted by Nick’s friends at the Litchi Orchard on Thursday, November 14 at 6pm. Tickets costs R150 per person .
