Chapman rocks Primi for a good cause

Actress and musician Natalie Chapman rocked Primi Piatti to raise awareness about rape in South Africa.

Singer and songwriter Natalie Chapman rocked up a storm at Primi Piatti in Ballito last Wednesday to raise awareness about rape in South Africa.
Chapman’s stop in Ballito was the 56th day of her 90 days, 90 gigs campaign.
The actress, radio DJ, artist manager, voice artist and teacher played a mix of acoustic, folk and rock music.
She is raising money for the Epic Foundation, a registered NPO that supports rape and abuse victims. The foundation is currently set up in Gauteng but Alta McMaster, Epic’s founder hopes to go national.
Primi’s general manager Tracy-Lee Smith was happy to host Chapman during her three month tour.
“Our branch in Paarl hosted Natalie a couple of weeks before us and that was a real success. Hampshire Hotel organised her an overnight stay while she was in Ballito.” said Smith.
Chapman was grateful for the support she received.
“Primi put so much effort in, which really helped a lot with the organisational side. I got an awesome response from the people there,” she said.
Chapman also chatted to some locals who are interested in helping set up the Epic Foundation in Ballito.
Moving into the last 30 days of her country-wide tour, Chapman is exhausted but has thoroughly enjoyed the enormous undertaking.
“I will definitely do it again next year and I want to challenge other musicians to carry the flag. I hope to plant a seed in people to be responsible for the welfare of the victims of rape and abuse,” she said.
Chapman’s last leg of tour will see her move through the Free State and finish in Gauteng.
