Mandeni policewoman in Mrs SA

Domestic abuse survivor in the Mrs SA semi-finals.

Policewoman and women’s rights advocate, Linah Ntshalintshali (28) is up against tough competition as a semi-finalist in the Mrs SA 2014 pageant.

The mother of two girls told the Courier that she entered Mrs SA because she needed a bigger platform to raise awareness about domestic abuse.

“I am a domestic abuse survivor and my experience has taught me that woman in abusive relationships need someone to go that extra mile to help them over and above arresting the perpetrator,” said Linah.

She said as a policewoman she was somehow limited in the help she could offer to abuse victims but being Mrs SA would open another window of help.

The Mandeni resident described herself as a lover of the limelight and has been performing as dancer since primary school. She is also no stranger to beauty pageants, having entered more than a dozen pageants around the province.

“I have never won anything grand so being a semi-finalist in Mrs SA is the biggest thing that has ever happened to me. I hope I bring the crown home.”

Linah is currently pushing her campaign to get people to vote for her so that she becomes one of the finalists in the Mrs SA grand finale which will be held in the Emperors Palace in Gauteng on August 9.

To vote for Linah, sms Zamashobane Linah Ntshalintshali to 35959.
