KwaDukuza votes ANC

Final election result deadline pushed till noon today.

IEC deputy chair Terry Tselane announced this morning that he expects the tallying of the votes to be complete by lunch time today.
The ANC still maintains their majority nationwide as we move into second day of counting the votes.
As it stands nationally, the ANC has 62%, the DA follows them with 22% and Julius Malema’s EFF lie in third place with 6% after they officially broke one million votes this morning.
This means the EFF will have at least 20 seats in parliament, as each seat requires 47 000 votes.
In comparison to the 2009 national elections, the DA’s vote tally has gone up considerable from 2 945 829 in 2009 to 3 683 195 votes as of this morning. The ANC are about 1 million votes behind their 2009 tally of 11 650 748 votes.
In KZN, the DA have usurped the IFP as the second most popular party in the province. In 2009 the IFP had 20% of votes while the DA had 10%. This year, the DA has 12% of KZN’s votes and the IFP has 10%.
In KwaDukuza, the ANC has a strong lead with 62 956 votes, the DA follows with 18 743 votes and the IFP has 3 482 votes.
Despite some minor irregularities, including voters not on the roll, voting was peacfully conducted throughout KwaDukuza.
Barring the shooting of an ANC volunteer at the Lindelani voting station. A murder case has been opened and KwaDukuza police are investigating.
International ballots need to be in the country by 9pm tonight for them to be counted.
At 9am this morning, 16 791 656 valid votes had officially been counted and vote counting is 95% complete and 21266 of 22263 voting districts have been counted.
