New hotline to report parking in disabled bays

The South African Community Action Network promise to take action.

You can now report drivers who park illegally in disabled bays and action will be taken to have those cars removed.

The South African Community Action Network has set up a hotline to report offenders: 086 167 2226.

The network will contact the shopping centre’s management or the police to remove vehicles from bays designed for disabled drivers.
“When a member of the public calls with a description and the location of the vehicle, the duty manager will contact the shopping centre and tell management to move the vehicle,” said network spokesman Lachlan Nicholson.
He said the network would call police to remove the vehicle if centre management ignored the call.
