Plan your day around the list of top five things to do in Ballito this weekend.

 

1. ‘Mini’ market time! Visit the Burnedale Farmers Market at Umhlali and meet the latest additions to the animal farm, miniature nguni cattle and two adorable miniature ponies.

There will be jumping castle for the kids, arts and crafts, great foods, fresh produce, a beer tent and a great vibe.

2. Continue your Saturday morning ‘market crawl’ at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre’s Foodies Market. This monthly market is on the first Saturday of every month outside Zara’s Coffee Shop, from 8am to 2pm.

The market supports local produce, focusing on providing fresh, organic and artisan products.

3. Do you love to cook? Join Hirsch Ballito, Elba and students from the International Hotel School for an interactive cooking session on Saturday with recipes from the At Home With Hirsch’s cook book.

The session will start at 10:30 to 12pm and it will be free of charge. To book call Melissa on 032-9467400.

4. Reconnect with your inner child and join Barney, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at The Quarter Shopping Centre in Ballito on Sunday. Jumping castles, colouring competitions, kiddies games, candy floss and more. Entrance R30.

5. Summer or winter the beach at Ballito is always beautiful. If its too nippy to swim then take a walk from Thompsons Bay to Willard beach, its too beautiful to not be enjoyed.
