Three women injured after falling from bakkie

Passengers on back of bakkie thrown out of the vehicle.

Three women fell off the back of a bakkie along the King Shaka main road close to King Shaka International Airport.

Two of the women were seriously injured while the third was in a critical condition.

Netcare 911 said according to a report of the incident on the scene it seems that the bakkie with seven people on the back had to swerve for another vehicle causing the people to fall onto the roadway.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found one female to be in a critical condition while the two other ladies sustained serious injuries,” said spokesperson Chris Botha.

The critically wounded patient was placed on a ventilator and paramedics immobilised the patients on trauma boards before transporting them to a nearby hospital.
