Stats SA to conduct survey in Ballito

Living conditions survey will collect data in Ballito beginning this week.

Statistics South Africa will be conducting a living conditions survey for 2014/15 and two representatives will be visiting residents in Ballito for the survey this week.

Sinenkosi Biyela and Lindiwe Dube will be the representatives for Stats SA in Ballito.

During the survey, Stats SA will be collecting information on the living conditions of South African households.

The aim of the survey is to provide data which will contribute to better understanding poverty in South Africa and to provide data for monitoring poverty over time.

The households that are selected across all nine provinces within South Africa will be participating in this year-long survey, which commenced in October 2014 and will conclude in October 2015.

The team of dedicated publicity and survey officers will be in the area over a period of four to six weeks to engage with selected households.

A team of publicity officers will visit households about one week prior to the data collection period to explain to households what is required in terms of their participation in this important survey.

In Ward 6, the 10 houses have been randomly selected to participate in this survey.

All ten residences are in Ballito.

Ward 6 councilor, Colin Marsh, said, “As of Monday, 11 May, two Stats SA employees, Sinenkosi Biyela and Lindiwe Dube, will be in the Ballito area. They will be wearing Stats SA bibs, a Stats SA cap, they will have identification and will be driving a Stats SA branded vehicle.”
