Tekkie fun for a good cause

Remember to get your tekkie tags on Friday.

Time to put your high heels, school shoes or slops in the cupboard and take out your favourite, comfy tekkies for the annual Tekkie Tax Day happening this Friday.

All you need to do is pay R10 “tax” to wear your tekkies, which will be donated to the charity sector of your choice: animals, basic family care, children, disability or education.

If you cannot choose one, choose two or more, because they all need your support.

If your tekkies are looking a little drab and sad, get a pair of funky shoelaces called “tekkie tags” to spice them up.

The Stanger Training Centre is one of the participating schools and selling stickers quickly of which they get R4 per sticker for their special needs school.

“It is such a fun day and our 220 pupils are so looking forward to Tekkie Tax Day and to the great things we can do with the money that will be donated to our school,” said one of the teachers and organizers Vanessa Fynn.

To buy your stickers, contact Vanessa Fynn or Reshma Misra on 032 552 5498 or send an email to stangertrainingcentre@telkomsa.net to get your stickers and tekkie tags and R4 for each sticker will be donated to the school.
