Food boost for Smile With Us
North Coast Courier Orphan Fund visits community centre.
The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund’s soup, socks and snuggles winter campaign kicked off positively with the Beautiful You Charity visiting Smile With Us community centre in Frasers.
On Thursday, Jenita Maharaj, director of Beautiful You said they are willing to sponsor the centre on a fortnightly basis with a breakfast scheme.
“We would like to come after two weeks and give them something that will last them until we come back again,” said Maharaj.
Beautiful You donated different items for breakfast as well as some cosmetics for the centre.
Currently the centre provides lunch from Monday to Friday for 130 people including children.
“We are so grateful for Beautiful You and the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund for coming in today,” said founder of the centre Mervin Veerasamy.
The centre is also looking for small tables and chairs for the children at the centre.
