Three people died in an accident between a car and a truck on the R102 in Compensation, near Ballito in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two people had to be extricated from the vehicle by KwaDukuza fire department.
Two female passengers were treated on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue and Netcare 911 advanced life support before being transported to hospital in a critical condition.
The R102 was closed until the scene was cleared.
