Celebrating a miracle

Paramedics visit boy who was knocked over at Chakas Rock.

The paediatric surgical ward at Stanger Hospital was filled with laughter and excitement for Goodenough Mcineka’s birthday on Wednesday.

Mcineka turned six and received some gifts and cupcakes from the paramedics, after they treated him on the Chakas Rock offramp a week ago where he was knocked over by a car.

The RA Padayachee pupil’s leg was broken in three places and he had to be airlifted to hospital due to his critical condition.

Since then his condition improved a lot and he was smiling and enjoying a cupcake on his birthday with the men that looked after him on that fateful day.

IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said the accident was hard on everyone and the team was happy to see the good progress the boy made.
