In the early hours of Sunday morning a driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the bridge over the Tongaat river mouth.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said the driver lost his life as he was entrapped in the vehicle which was engulfed in flames.
“Despite the swift response from KwaDukuza Fire Department the driver was entrapped in the vehicle that was engulfed in flames and unfortunately died,” said Herbst.
“Our sincere condolences go out to the family of this young man who is believed to be a Ballito resident.”
