KZN addresses drought issue

Umgeni Water explains more about the Hazelmere emergency pipeline.

Cooperative governance and traditional affairs MEC for KZN, Nomusa Dube-Ncube addressed a full house of reporters during an urgent media briefing on the KZN drought crisis, held at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Attended by Umgeni Water big shots and mayors form all over the province, the message pertaining to the Dolphin Coast was basically the same as what was reported in this week’s article in the Courier.

In a question and answer session, the Courier asked Umgeni Water general manager engineering and scientific services, Steve Gillham, to explain why the emergency pipeline ended 1.5km short of the stressed Hazelmere Dam.
