SRU thanks you

Specialised Rescue Unit shows off their equipment they bought with the funds that was raised.

The Specialised Rescue Unit recently bought new equipment with the money that was raised for them by the community.

Carmen Power from SRU said they wanted to show the community where the money went and what it was spent on.

“We just wanted to thank everyone for their contributions and what has been made possible due to everyone’s support.”

The SRU’s new equipment include: 1 x Jet Ski, 1 x 200m rope, 2 x 100m climbing rope, 8 x high angle rescue helmets, 2 x full body climbing harnesses, 5 x personal flotation devices, 3 x climbing rescue eights, 33 x various climbing carabiners, 2 x rescue pullings, 6 x climbing slings, 1 x oxygen cylinder, 1 x rescue tog bag, 30m rescue webbing, 2 x life jackets, 1 x animal life jacket, 4 x sets swimming fins

“Donated items include the team’s jumpsuit’s from the Lifestyle Centre, official clothing by Pick ‘n Pay, six two-way radios from Glen Middleton and wetsuits by Tiffany’s Shopping Centre. We would also just like to especially thank Brett Michelin from Mozambik for all his contributions,” said Power.
