From entrepreneur to wonderwoman
WonderWomen network launched to start changing the lives of millions.
It has been seven years since Sarah Collins conceived the Wonderbag idea and slowly started to change the world.
Like all entrepreneurs, she had many weird and wonderful ideas, but it was not until the Wonderbag creation that she realised this was her purpose on earth.
When it comes to business, Collins knows a thing or two by now.
“In the past seven years there were horrendously low times, but I never questioned my passion and commitment to this product,” said Collins.
She introduced a whole new range of products in the wonder-range to her close friends and supporters at her house in Ballito, as part of launching the WonderWomen network.
All the new products are developed to create a more self-sustainable way of living. This includes water purifying drops, a solar lantern and a recycling bin with her wonderworms – earthworms – to create a fertilizer for vegetable gardens.
“I want to create wonderpreneurs. I am just one lunatic who started this and look at the ripple effect.”
Collins said now it is time to get more women involved.
“We all cook. We can empower wonderpreneurs, from the office in Mount Edgecombe to rural KZN to all over Africa,” she said.
It has been a long journey and Collins learned some valuable lessons on the way. She has a handful of tips for fellow females starting out with their own business.
“Things always take longer than you think. Never believe anyone who says they will give you money. Hire very slowly and only when essential, and fire extremely fast. Trust your gut. You have got to learn to keep quiet and listen to your gut.”
Collins is proof that if you believe in your idea, you can make it work.
“There is nothing you should not attempt. Take your ideas to as many people as possible.”
You might just slowly start to change the world, one idea at a time.
